Updated Suzuki XL7 gets revised styling, new features and familiar 1.5-litre petrol engine; could inspire XL6 facelift for India
Suzuki has released the first official image of the facelifted XL7 ahead of its global debut at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on July 29. Since the Indian XL6 shares a lot with the Indonesian XL7, the changes taken place overseas are expected to make their way to India in the near future as well but no official confirmation has been made yet.
The facelift introduces a sharper front end treatment led by a redesigned chrome grille with black inserts. The headlamp units have been revised while the front bumper gets a new layout with new fog lamp housings. Moving along the sides, the MPV receives a set of newly designed alloy wheels and the rear is distinguished by smoked LED tail lamps that give the update a sportier appearance.
The cabin is not expected to undergo a complete redesign but the Japanese auto major may expand the equipment list to bring a more premium vibe. New safety features, front seat ventilation, an upgraded 360-degree camera system, an improved head-up display and a larger infotainment touchscreen with improved in-car connected features are among the expected additions for the Indonesia-spec model.

Mechanical changes are highly unlikely as the facelifted MPV could retain the familiar 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated K15C four-cylinder petrol engine which is good enough to develop a maximum power output of 103 bhp and 136 Nm of peak torque. The transmission options should continue with a five-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic while the factory-fitted CNG version is also expected to be in play.
One notable update for the CNG derivative could be the use of underfloor CNG tank layout first introduced on the Victoris as the same setup will find its way to the Brezza facelift on July 23, 2026. If carried over to the Maruti Suzuki XL6, it would free up considerably more luggage space and thereby improving practicality for family-based consumers.

In India, the XL6 continues to occupy a unique position between mainstream MPVs and a slightly premium family vehicles. Rivals include the Kia Carens Clavis, Toyota Rumion and higher variants of the Maruti Ertiga. With the Carens Clavis expanding its equipment list, Maruti Suzuki is expected to respond with the refreshed XL6 later this year.
