2026 Tata Tiago gets bigger screens and more technology based features along with a revised exterior in its new avatar

Connected tail lamps, six airbags, paddle shifters and dual digital displays are now part of a hatchback starting below Rs. 5 lakh as Tata Motors has officially introduced the updated Tiago lineup in India bringing major cabin revisions, new styling and expanded feature lists across petrol and CNG variants. The refreshed Tiago range starts at Rs. 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Smart petrol manual trim while prices extend up to Rs. 7.99 lakh for higher CNG variants.

Tata has spread the lineup across six grades – Smart, Pure, Pure+, Pure+ A, Creative and Creative+ with manual and AMT choices depending on configuration. The petrol AMT variants are available from the Pure trim onwards while the CNG AMT setup continues across multiple personas as well. Tata remains the only manufacturer currently offering a factory fitted CNG hatchback paired with an AMT gearbox in this category.

The biggest change arrives inside the cabin as Tata has redesigned the dashboard introducing a flatter horizontal structure with a floating 26.03 cm infotainment screen and a fully digital instrument display. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, automatic climate control, connected car functions and wireless charging now enter the Tiago range as well.

The company has also added rear AC vents, cooled glovebox functionality, soft touch door armrests, Type C fast charging ports and a revised steering wheel. Higher trims further receive passive entry, electrically folding mirrors and a fabric finished dashboard treatment uncommon in this price bracket.

On the outside, the 2026 Tata Tiago ICE carries a sharper and more upright appearance. LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, a wider lower grille and connected halo style tail lamps headline the exterior changes while new alloy wheel designs and wheel arch cladding further alter the stance. Dual tone roof treatment and new paint finishes also join the portfolio.

Tata has now added steering mounted paddle shifters to the CNG AMT version – improving manual gear control during overtakes and driving. Direct start functionality in CNG mode also continues as part of the package. Mechanically, the hatchback retains the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three cylinder Revotron engine.

Petrol versions produce 86 PS and 113 Nm while the iCNG setup develops 75.5 PS and 96.5 Nm. Five speed manual and AMT gearboxes remain available depending on variant selection. Safety equipment has expanded substantially too. Six airbags are now standard while ESP, traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring and a 360 degree surround camera system have also been introduced.

Tata says the updated hatchback now carries more than 90 safety features across the lineup. The Tiago may sit in a shrinking hatchback category in terms of sales but Tata appears determined to keep the model technologically ahead of several rivals despite increasing dominance from compact SUVs.
