Customer deliveries for the Nissan Tekton will begin on July 20, 2026; will be available in a total of 12 variants and 2 engine options
Nissan has officially taken the wraps off the all-new Tekton midsize SUV in India and its prices have also been announced. Positioned above the Magnite in the brand’s domestic portfolio, the Tekton enters one of the country’s most competitive SUV segments. The production model shares its CMF-B architecture with the latest Renault Duster but adopts a completely different design philosophy inspired by the larger Nissan Patrol. During the unveiling, Nissan also confirmed a comprehensive equipment list, two turbo-petrol engine options, advanced safety technologies, Google Built-in connectivity and several premium convenience features.
The Tekton will be offered with two turbocharged petrol powertrains. The entry-level T160 engine develops 100 PS and 166 Nm of torque and comes paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Nissan claims a fuel efficiency figure of 19.4 kmpl for this version. Sitting above it is the T280 turbo-petrol generating 163 PS and 280 Nm. This engine will be available with a six-speed manual transmission delivering a claimed 17.8 kmpl, while the six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl. The automatic variant also gains paddle shifters and selectable steering modes.
Safety has received considerable attention as the Tekton gets six airbags as standard comprising front, side and curtain airbags. Other standard equipment includes ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, rear child locks, emergency stop signal, speed-sensing automatic door lock and unlock, immobiliser, follow-me-home headlamps, front disc brakes, rollover sensor, front seatbelt reminder, double pull-over lock, automatic hazard warning, door ajar warning, high-tensile steel safety cage, pedestrian protection measures, side impact protection beams and aspherical outside rearview mirrors.

The feature list moves well beyond the basics. Nissan has equipped the Tekton with Adaptive Cruise Control featuring Stop and Go functionality, Traffic Sign Recognition, Smart Power Tailgate, Fly-by-Wire electronic shifter, electronic parking brake and a wireless smartphone charger with integrated cooling. Parking assistance comes through a 360-degree camera system combined with a 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor. The SUV also supports Walk Away Lock and Approach Unlock functions, adding another layer of convenience for everyday use.
Inside, the Tekton adopts a modern layout centred around a dual-screen setup running Google Built-in. Native support is available for Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play while the system is also Gemini capable. Cabin comfort features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats with manual lumbar adjustment, ambient smart-touch LED cabin illumination, generous storage spaces, a high centre console with sliding storage section and high-bolster seats designed for improved support. Nissan has also confirmed a large 700-litre boot, placing the Tekton among the more practical offerings in the segment.
Connected technology forms another major highlight. Nissan says the SUV offers more than 55 connected car functions through its smartphone application. These include remote engine start with air-conditioning activation, remote lock and unlock, remote light and horn operation, remote vehicle status monitoring and Find My Car functionality, besides additional owner services. Once launched, the Nissan Tekton will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and other midsize SUVs in the Indian market.
The Tekton will be introduced in India with a structured variant lineup across both engine options. The T160 range will be available in six variants while the more powerful T280 lineup will also comprise six variants. Nissan will offer four interior and exterior themes along with 11 colour choices, comprising six monotone and five dual-tone paint finishes. The T280 range will be offered with both a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic, while Nissan describes the T160 as balancing performance and fuel efficiency and positions the T280 as delivering best-in-segment power and torque.
Bookings for the Nissan Tekton have officially opened today across dealerships and the brand’s online sales platform. Customer deliveries are scheduled to commence from July 20. Nissan will also offer more than 50 genuine customisation options, allowing owners to personalise the SUV through a wide range of exterior, interior and utility accessories.
To strengthen ownership value, Nissan has announced a comprehensive Nissan Care package as part of the launch. Customers will receive special introductory prices, a 5-year Nissan Care programme, a 5-year warranty package (3 years standard + 2 years extended) powered by Nissan Finance and a 5-year maintenance package, aiming to reduce running costs and provide greater peace of mind throughout the ownership period.
