TVS IQube S 4.7 kWh variant comes equipped with a BLDC hub-mounted motor and is capable of 0-40 kmph sprint in 4.3 seconds
TVS Motor Company has added a new 4.7 kWh variant to the IQube S lineup bringing a larger battery and 175 km of IDC-certified range to what is already one of the more feature-loaded electric scooters in its segment. Priced at Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom), the new variant sits above the existing IQube S options and targets consumers who seek genuine long range capability without stepping up to the flagship IQube ST.
The 4.7 kWh lithium-ion battery operates at a rated voltage of 52V and is BMS-controlled with IP67 water and dust resistance. Charging from zero to 80 per cent takes around four hours using the portable off-board charger. The BLDC hub-mounted motor produces a peak output of 4.4 kW and 140 Nm of peak torque with a rated output of 3 kW and 33 Nm.
Top speed is rated at 82 kmph and the 0 to 40 kmph sprint comes up in 4.3 seconds. Regenerative braking is standard and the scooter tips the scales at 128.8 kg. It rides on 90/90-12 tubeless tyres at both ends with a 220 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum handling braking duties.
The underseat storage measures a generous 32 litres which is said to be enough for two helmets and a USB charger port is included. The TVS IQube S 4.7 kWh variant’s round clearance stands at 157 mm, seat height at 770 mm and the wheelbase at 1,301 mm. On the technology front, it gets a 17.78 cm TFT display operated via a joystick HMI.
The connectivity suite runs to 118+ features including turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call and SMS alerts, remote charge status, distance to empty, geofencing, crash and fall alerts, anti-theft alerts and OTA updates covering telematics, MCU, VCU, BMS and the speedometer.
Voice assist with Alexa Skillset integration is also on board. The scooter also gets a parking assist function with both reverse and forward modes. Three colour options have been made available namely Magnificence Purple Beige, Harlequin Blue Beige and Mercury Grey. A 50,000 km battery warranty is offered as standard and the scooter also gets a flip key with LED light and a pleasant horn tone among its feature highlights.
