On the top 10 most sold diesel cars chart in FY26, Mahindra utterly dominated by feature five of its nameplates with the Scorpio heading the way
The diesel PV segment closed FY2026 with total sales of 8,63,277 units and the top 10 models collectively confirm the utter dominance of Mahindra & Mahindra as it covered half the table. The homegrown SUV manufacturer placed five models in the top 10 accounting for a combined 4,40,420 units – more than half of the entire top 10 volume.
The total goes on to prove just how deeply its ladder-frame and monocoque SUV portfolios are tied to diesel power. The Mahindra Scorpio led the diesel charts by a considerable margin with 1,70,372 units and a 19.7 per cent share of the top 10. Its combination of road presence, proven mechanicals and brand loyalty kept it ahead of every other oil-burner in the country.
The Bolero followed in second with 1,10,136 units as its 12.8 per cent share shows the sustained relevance of the utilitarian nameplate. Hyundai’s Creta was the highest placed non-Mahindra performer – recording 91,907 units and a 10.6 per cent share.
