The sales figures of TVS Motor surged by 31 per cent in May 2026 due to the good reception for the brand’s EVs And exports hitting new record
Record monthly volumes, top-notch export demand and accelerating electric vehicle sales helped TVS Motor Company post one of its best performances yet in May 2026. The Hosur-based manufacturer sold 5,66,585 vehicles during the month – registering a 31 per cent increase compared to 4,31,275 units recorded in May 2025.
While domestic demand stayed put healthy, the biggest growth contributor came from international markets and its range of electric offerings. TVS reported global business volumes of 1,75,991 units during May – up 49 per cent from 1,18,437 units a year ago. Its two-wheeler exports alone rose 48 per cent to 1,58,546 units during the period.
TVS’ EV sales climbed 56 per cent year-on-year to 43,632 units from 27,976 units recorded in May 2025 as both the iQube and Orbiter have been well received by consumers. The local business, as one might expect, remained the foundation of overall volumes due to its diverse presence in the entry-level, commuter and premium segments.

The brand’s domestic two-wheeler sales increased 24 per cent to 3,84,565 units compared to 3,09,287 units sold during the corresponding month last year. The series of motorcycles alone accounted for 2,73,802 units in May 2026 – posting a 30 per cent increase over the 2,11,505 units sold a year ago. Meanwhile, scooter sales performed even better growing 32 per cent to 2,20,740 units from 1,66,749 units during May 2025.
The total two-wheeler sales reached 5,43,111 units – up from 4,16,166 units in May 2025 with a 31 per cent increase and formed the bulk of the company’s overall monthly volume. TVS’ three-wheelers also recorded a notable performance as sales rose 55 per cent to 23,474 units from 15,109 units recorded in the same month last year.
