Nissan recorded wholesales of 2,948 units in May 2026 – up 118 per cent YoY – the third consecutive month of domestic growth
Nissan Motor India registered domestic wholesales of 2,948 units in May 2026 – up 118 per cent year on year – the third consecutive month of year on year domestic growth for the brand. Its exports added 5,023 units during the month – taking total wholesales to 7,971 units. The Gravite MPV and the Magnite compact SUV including the growing CNG variant uptake on the latter were the primary contributors.
The Nissan Tekton world premiere is also being lined up for next month with the brand positioning the event as a marker of its intent to expand the India product portfolio and it will act as a spiritual successor to the Terrano. The Tekton, which shares the RGMP platform with the Renault Duster and carries a Patrol inspired design language, is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2026.
Renault India posted its ninth consecutive month of wholesale growth in May 2026 with a 64 per cent year on year increase in wholesales during the month. Between September 2025 and May 2026, cumulative wholesales reached 38,225 units with a 46 per cent improvement over the same nine month window in the previous year.

Renault was also among only two passenger vehicle manufacturers in India to record positive retail sales growth in May 2026 based on Vahan data. The nine month wholesale growth run at Renault has been driven primarily by the Triber which received a comprehensive update nearly a year ago.
It brings automatic climate control, a revised interior and improved feature content. Only a few months ago, Renault brought the Duster nameplate back to India and it has been well received by customers as well. These two models have given Renault a more competitive product lineup than at any point in the past years domestically.

Both Renault and Nissan have multiple new products in the pipeline as an A-segment electric vehicle will be accompanied by three-row iterations of the Renault Duster and the forthcoming Nissan Tekton. A compact Renault SUV named Bridger is also in the works for 2027.
