Renault posted 55 per cent domestic gain in June, while Nissan registered 129 per cent domestic increase ahead of Tekton world premiere
Renault and Nissan Motor reported higher domestic wholesales in June 2026 with both brands gaining volumes courtesy of new launches. Renault posted 4,063 domestic units during the month – up 55 per cent over June 2025 – while Nissan registered 3,006 domestic units by recording a 129 per cent year-on-year increase.
Renault’s first-half performance stood at 25,844 units – up 61 per cent compared to the same period last year. Last month also resulted in tenth straight month of double-digit gains for the French auto major. It comes as Renault works through its new product cycle led by the revived Duster and updated mainstream portfolio comprising the Triber and Kiger.
Exports of the new Renault Duster have also started from India. The first shipment comprising 750 units was dispatched to South Africa a few weeks ago. It gives Renault’s Chennai operations a significant role in addition to rolling out models for domestic sales especially as the new gen Duster becomes part of both local and export plans.

Nissan’s June 2026 wholesales reached 8,346 units as the tally includes 3,006 units sold locally and 5,340 export units. Its domestic volumes climbed 129 per cent year-on-year while overall wholesales rose 16 per cent as the Japanese auto firm recorded its fourth consecutive month of year-on-year domestic gain as the Magnite remains a volume player alongside Gravite.
The brand is now preparing for the world premiere of the Tekton on July 9, 2026. The midsize SUV will become Nissan’s next major product for India and will sit above the Magnite and Gravite. The SUV has already been teased and spied multiple times taking inspiration from the global Patrol.

It will enter the midsize SUV space where Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun are active. Both brands will bring in a seven-seater SUV based on their respective midsize SUVs while an A-segment locally-made electric vehicle will also arrive in the future.
