MG Go has been conceived as a compact battery electric hatchback for the highly competitive B-segment while the Cyber previews a future D-segment e-SUV
MG has pulled the wraps off two new electric concept cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026. The MG GO offers an early look at a production-ready B-segment electric hatchback due in 2027 while the MG Cyber Concept previews a future D-segment electric performance SUV. They combine MG’s sporting heritage and stick by the latest EV standards.
The MG Go has been conceived as a compact battery electric hatchback for the highly competitive B-segment. Developed entirely by the design team at the MG Design Centre in London under Design Director Carl Gotham, the concept takes inspiration from classic MG models such as the MGB GT while also drawing cues from the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR and MG EX4.
As opposed to recreating retro styling, MG says the Go gets a retro-futuristic approach and the production version based on the concept is scheduled to arrive globally in 2027. According to MG, it has been designed around clean surfaces and simple styling elements inspired by the brand’s historic sports cars. The concept looks to create an emotional bonding with consumers by combining everyday usability with expressive styling.

Not like the hatchback, the Cyber serves as a flagship design study and demonstrates how MG intends to carry its performance-oriented image into larger body styles. The concept draws inspiration from the historic MG EX181 land speed record car. It targets day-to-day driving, long distance touring and enthusiastic push while maintaining the practicality expected from a family SUV.
Large proportions, muscular body surfaces and an athletic stance are intended to communicate movement even when the vehicle is stationary. Alongside the two concept cars, MG has continued to place a huge emphasis on electrification and advanced vehicle technologies as it looks to expand its global EV portfolio. As for India, three new vehicles – two electric vehicles and one PHEV – are set to launch this financial year.

Commenting on the GO, Carl Gotham, Design Director of Advanced Design in London, said “It is not about looking back for its own sake, but about capturing some of the clarity, charm and emotional appeal that have always made MG so distinctive, and reinterpreting that in a way that feels relevant today and crucially creating something with strong charisma.”
