Four new Hyundai SUVs to cover multiple segments from A to D, with one model offering even three-row seating
In October last year, Hyundai announced it had planned 26 launches, including 7 new nameplates, by March 2030. The company has since launched the all-new Venue, the new Verna, the new Exter, and the new Ioniq 5. By next year, it is expected to introduce four SUVs in our market, three of which will be new nameplates:
1. Hyundai Bayon
While the first-gen Hyundai Bayon is a Euro-focused SUV, the second-gen model is being developed keeping in mind the requirements of emerging markets as well and will be launched in India. It will be a new mid-size SUV designed to compete with the Maruti Victoris, positioned below the Hyundai Creta.

The next-gen Bayon will debut Hyundai’s new 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in India. The company could also offer a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine or a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine to keep the entry price low.
2. Hyundai HE1i
‘HE1i’ is the codename of Hyundai’s upcoming SUV, which could challenge the Tata Punch.ev. Unlike the Creta Electric, it will be heavily localised, right down to the cell level. The company is likely to offer two battery pack options, both featuring LFP cells sourced from Exide Energy.

The Hyundai HE1i will have a squarish exterior for a proper SUV look, along with modern details such as flush-fitted door handles and the brand’s Parametric Pixel light signature. It will likely be launched in Q1 2027.
3. Next-gen Hyundai Creta
The next-gen Hyundai Creta will be a noticeably bigger, more aggressive- and futuristic-looking SUV. Based on an all-new ‘K3’ platform, it will be more spacious and ready to accommodate a hybrid system, expected to be introduced at a later stage.

Inside, there’d be a new cockpit layout consisting of a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in. Hyundai will likely launch the next-gen Creta in India in mid-2027.
4. Hyundai Ni1i

The Hyundai Ni1i is reportedly the brand’s upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO rival. Reports say it will be based on the platform of the Tucson long-wheelbase. It will be offered with a hybrid powertrain based on a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, possibly the same one that will debut in the India-made Kia Sorento this year. The new three-row SUV from Hyundai could be launched at the end of 2027.
