Following Maruti Suzuki, South Korean automaker Hyundai rolls out a marginal price hike for its cars to offset rising costs
Hyundai has announced that it will increase the prices of its cars in India by up to Rs. 12,800. The company will implement the new prices on 1 June 2026. Input costs have escalated beyond a level that Hyundai could absorb, pushing it to roll out the price hike. The company says it is passing on only a part of this impact to customers. It has yet to disclose a model and variant-wise breakup of the price hike.
Currently, Hyundai offers nine models in India, spanning various entry and premium segments and covering multiple body styles. The range starts with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, priced between Rs. 5,55,000 (ex-showroom) and Rs. 7,72,000 (ex-showroom). There’s also a taxi version of the same, called ‘Hyundai Prime HB’ and priced at Rs. 5,99,900 (ex-showroom).
Higher up, there’s the Hyundai Exter, the prices of which start at Rs. 5,79,900 (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs. 9,40,900 (ex-showroom). The Hyundai i20 is positioned above the micro-SUV and is priced in the Rs. 5,99,000-11,67,000 (ex-showroom) range.

The Hyundai Aura, the sedan derived from the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, costs anywhere between Rs. 5,99,900 (ex-showroom) and Rs. 8,54,000 (ex-showroom). It also has a taxi version, dubbed ‘Hyundai Prime SD’ and costing Rs. 6,89,900 (ex-showroom). The all-new Hyundai Venue is the final sub-4 metre model in the company’s Indian line-up. The Tata Nexon rival is available from Rs. 7,99,900 (ex-showroom), with the top configuration retailing at Rs. 15,82,000 (ex-showroom).
Hyundai’s premium range in India starts with its best-selling model – the Creta. The company offers it in multiple configurations priced between Rs. 10,79,000 (ex-showroom) and Rs. 20,09,500 (ex-showroom). It offers the mid-size SUV in a pure electric variant as well, with prices starting at Rs. 18,02,200 (ex-showroom) and going up to Rs. 24,69,500 (ex-showroom).

Positioned above the Creta series is the Hyundai Verna, the prices of which start at Rs. 10,98,400 (ex-showroom) but top out at a lower Rs. 18,40,400 (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Alcazar, the three-row version of the Hyundai Creta, costs Rs. 14,49,900-21,20,500 (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Ioniq 5, the flagship model of the South Korean automaker in our market, is only available in a single configuration, priced at Rs. 55,70,000 (ex-showroom).
