Tata Sierra EV will likely the likes of Maruti e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, VinFast VF 6, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
Over half a year after the all-new Tata Sierra, the pure electric Tata Sierra.ev is finally nearing launch. Tata Motors plans to unveil the zero-emission variant of its latest mid-size SUV on 30 June.
The Tata Sierra.ev has already been partially revealed in promotional footage last year, revealing most of the key visual changes over the ICE donor. It will have toned-down aggression and look cleaner compared to the regular Tata Sierra. The front-end will look the most different, featuring a largely body-coloured upper fascia, omitting the black front mask seen on the ICE model.
The daytime running light bar stretching across the width of the vehicle will be thicker and have a more consistent design for a bolder appearance. The horizontal headlamps and vertical fog lamps will be positioned slyly, surrounded by black panels. Tata Motors will likely use a “.ev” badge on the front door panels and unique 19-inch alloy wheels to further differentiate the Sierra.ev from the regular Sierra.

The interior of the Tata Sierra.ev will likely look nearly identical to the ICE model. It will likely feature a highly digital design centred around three dashboard displays, comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The software will likely be slightly different, including certain EV-specific functions. Tata Motors may use a different colour scheme and unique accents as well.
The Tata Sierra.ev will feature a multi-link rear suspension for enhanced ride quality. Another major change from the Tata Sierra will be the shift from a FWD drivetrain layout to RWD. Moreover, unlike in the ICE model, an AWD drivetrain layout option will be available, enabled by a second electric motor powering the front wheels.

Customers may get a choice of standard-range RWD, extended-range RWD, and extended-range AWD variants in the Tata Sierra.ev. The extended-range RWD variant could be capable of travelling up to around 600 kilometres on a single charge. A vehicle-to-load (V2L) bi-directional charging function that allows customers to power external devices via the energy stored in the traction battery pack will likely be standard across the range.
