2026 Tata Tiago CNG will be revealed alongside its regular petrol and electric siblings on May 28 with a host of updates inside and out

Tata Motors was the first manufacturer in India to offer factory fitted CNG with an automatic transmission and the 2026 Tiago CNG extends that combination further by adding paddle shifters – another segment first feature that the Punch CNG introduced before it. Prices for the full 2026 Tiago range across petrol, CNG and EV versions will be announced on May 28.

The centre console on the CNG version has been completely redesigned around a rotary gear knob in place of the traditional lever. An engine start stop button sits alongside with a 65W Type-C fast charging port and what appear to be dual wireless charging pads integrated into the console surface but don’t be surprised if one is just a phone holder.

The paddle shifters mounted on the steering column allow manual gear selection through the AMT – giving the CNG Tiago a level of driver involvement that no competitor in the factory fitted CNG automatic segment currently matches. The cabin gets the same dual-tone grey and black upholstery which will also be introduced on the petrol facelift.

It will be accompanied by a new two spoke multifunction steering wheel, a larger freestanding touchscreen infotainment display and a floating digital instrument cluster. Rear AC vents are also part of the package. The exterior carries forward the same revised front fascia as the petrol version – new headlamps, a redesigned grille and a new bumper replace the outgoing unit.

A 360-degree camera is fitted and blacked out ORVMs feature across the range. At the rear, an i-CNG badge on the tailgate is the primary visual identifier distinguishing this variant from the petrol and EV versions. The Tiago sits at the entry point of the brand’s domestic lineup and is responsible for a significant chunk of volumes.

The facelift will look to keep the momentum going as multiple new revisions are involved. It follows recent launches such as the Punch ICE and EV facelifts and new Sierra while the electrified Sierra and first product from the Avinya sub-brand are waiting in the wings.
