2026 Bajaj Chetak gets Google Maps, ride modes as standard, higher top speed and improved power output

Bajaj Auto has announced a comprehensive update to its entire Chetak electric scooter range by introducing new features, performance improvements and a revised naming structure across the portfolio. The changes come into effect from today and apply across all variants in the lineup and here we take a deep look at it.

Starting with the naming, the 2026 Bajaj Chetak range now follows a C Series nomenclature organised into three tiers – C 35, C 30 and C 25. The structure brings more clarity to a portfolio that has expanded significantly over the past couple of years – in line with the good reception for one of the best-selling electric scooters in the country.

The headline addition, however, is Google Maps integration on the flagship C 35 01 which is built directly into the Chetak app. The feature has been introduced in response to consistent consumer demand for a more familiar navigation experience according to the brand – replacing the proprietary mapping solution that was previously offered.

In addition, top speed has been increased across the entire range. The C 35 01 and C 35 02 now top out at 80 kmph – up from 73 kmph previously. The C 35 03 and C 30 01 have been bumped to 70 kmph from 63 kmph while the C 25 01 now reaches 60 kmph against the earlier 55 kmph. On the flagship model, motor output has also been increased from 4.5 kW to 4.8 kW resulting in a more responsive performance in everyday riding conditions.

Charging times have improved as well. The C 30 01 now charges from zero to 80 per cent in 2 hours and 55 minutes, a significant reduction from the previous 3 hours and 50 minutes – nearly an hour faster than before. Ride Modes comprising Sports and Eco feature along with Hill Hold Assist were previously available as paid add-ons on select variants.

These are now standard equipment across the entire C 35 and C 30 series – adding more value without any additional cost to the consumer. Over-the-air update capability has also been extended with the C 35 01 and C 35 02 now able to receive software enhancements, performance optimisations and new features remotely.

It removes the need for service centre visits for software-related updates keeping the scooters current without any additional inconvenience to owners. The updates address the areas where the Chetak had faced the most feedback from owners – navigation, performance and feature accessibility – while the new C Series naming gives the brand a clutter-free product portfolio going forward.
