Yamaha XSR 155

Yamaha clocks 52 per cent growth in March 2026 as RayZR surges while XSR 155 posted close to 7,000 unit sales in India

Yamaha India has been building momentum for a while now and March 2026 is where it all showed up in the numbers. The brand closed the month with 76,909 units domestically – up from 50,473 units in March 2025 – and the total is 26,436 units more than the same month last year which resulted in a 52.38 per cent jump in the domestic market.

The RayZR was responsible for a big chunk of the growth. The month of March 2025 saw 14,510 units move out of dispatch lines but last month saw it at 25,798 units which is 11,300 more in a single month and with a year-on-year growth of 77.79 per cent. Yamaha’s bread-and-butter scooter has clearly caught a second wind and it will be interesting to see if the consistency can be maintained.

The FZ series held second at 17,227 units – well up from 11,583 units in March last year. A gain of 5,644 units and 48.73 per cent growth keeps Yamaha’s most recognisable streetbike punching consistently. The MT15 came in third with 9,343 unit sales against 9,074 units in March 2025 – just 269 units more and with a 2.96 per cent growth.

The R15 posted 8,133 units to finish in the fourth position as against 6,622 units last March by gaining 1,511 units for 22.82 per cent growth. For a performance-focused motorcycle at that price, growing by nearly a quarter year-on-year is an appreciable result and it shows the R15 still has room to run despite being a fully faired product.

Its sibling, the XSR 155 recorded a local tally of 6,948 units and it has been well received by consumers since its market launch. The Yamaha Fascino managed 6,671 units last month as against 6,634 units reported during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a growth of 0.56 per cent on a YoY basis.
