2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza will receive a host of updates on the inside while new additions like a six-speed MT and underbody CNG tank are likely
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) will introduce the updated Brezza in the domestic market on July 23 giving one of its top-selling SUVs a comprehensive mid-life update. The Brezza has already crossed 14 lakh cumulative sales since its market debut and the facelift will help the model remain competitive against rivals including Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue.
One of the biggest mechanical revisions could arrive in the form of a new six-speed manual transmission. The current five-speed gearbox is expected to make way for an additional ratio which should lower engine speeds during highway cruising while also improving drivability. The familiar 1.5-litre K15C DualJet naturally aspirated petrol engine will continue.
It makes around 102 bhp and 137 Nm, and Maruti Suzuki will retain the factory-fitted CNG version developing around 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm. The largest carmaker in the country could relocate the CNG cylinder beneath the floor instead of placing it inside the luggage compartment. A similar arrangement has already been introduced in the Victoris.

It gives rise to a much more practical boot. The interior revisions will be more noticeable than the exterior changes. A larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system could replace the existing 9-inch unit offering improved graphics and additional connectivity functions. The SUV may retain features such as the heads-up display, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel, wireless smartphone connectivity and the 360-degree camera unit.
The exterior is not expected to undergo a complete redesign. Instead, Maruti Suzuki will introduce revised alloy wheel design, updated body cladding and small changes to the front and rear lighting elements. The updated sub-four-metre SUV could command a small premium over the outgoing model which is currently priced from Rs. 8.4 lakh (ex-showroom).

While the overall proportions are unlikely to change, the combination of a revised cabin with new equipment, a more practical CNG kit, transmission upgrades and subtle styling revisions should keep the Brezza competitive in one of the busiest SUV segments out there!
