As many as 16 new Mahindra SUVs are expected to arrive by 2031 including the Vision S based baby Scorpio N, BE.07, Thar EV, Rall-E and more
Mahindra is working on a massive SUV offensive over the next five years with as many as 16 new utility vehicles expected to arrive by 2031. The lineup will comprise compact SUVs, off-roaders, family-focused models and born electric products. While several launches have already reached showrooms over the last two years, the next phase will introduce some of the brand’s biggest projects yet including the production versions of the Vision S.
Among the earliest arrivals will be the Vision S based sub-4m SUV. Frequently described as a baby Scorpio N, the compact SUV has already been spotted testing on public roads. Positioned above the XUV 3XO, the model is expected to borrow styling inspiration from the Scorpio N while carrying a more compact footprint. Launch could happen around early 2027.
Another important project is the Vision X-based crossover. While details remain limited, speculations indicate it could eventually take over the space currently occupied by the XUV 3XO. The concept previewed a sharper design language and will be underpinned by Mahindra’s new NU_IQ monocoque architecture as the Vision S. Additional SUVs derived from the same platform are also expected before the end of the decade.

Mahindra’s electric portfolio is set to see a major expansion as well. The BE.07 will sit at the top of the born electric range when it arrives in 2027. Measuring around 4.6 metres in length, the flagship EV will be positioned above the BE 6 and is expected to offer larger battery packs, extended driving range and a more premium cabin. The SUV will ride on the INGLO architecture which already underpins Mahindra’s latest EVs.
The Rall-E is another vehicle generating significant interest. Based on the BE 6, the production model is expected to feature increased ground clearance, chunkier tyres, revised suspension tuning and more aggressive body cladding. An electric Thar is also rumoured to be under development. It will carry several design cues from the existing lifestyle SUV as well as the Vision T concept but in a more evolved manner.

Alongside the all-new models, Mahindra is preparing updates for some of its established nameplates. The three-door Thar facelift is expected to receive styling revisions inspired by the Thar Roxx along with a more feature-rich cabin. The Scorpio N facelift is also in development and will likely introduce cosmetic changes and equipment upgrades while retaining the familiar engines.
The scale of Mahindra’s ambitions becomes even more evident when viewed against recent launches. The company has already introduced the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, XUV 7XO, Bolero facelift and Bolero Neo facelift on the ICE side. The electric portfolio has expanded through the BE 6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S and XUV 3XO EV. In other words, more than half of the original roadmap has already materialised.
