2026 Maruti Brezza (4)

Three new ICE Maruti Suzuki models expected to be launched in the next 12 months, including one with a hybrid powertrain option

Maruti Suzuki is working on several new cars and has begun testing some of them on public roads to evaluate their various aspects in real-world conditions. Three upcoming Maruti models have been spied on test in recent months, all expected to be launched within a year.

1. New Maruti Brezza

The Maruti Brezza is nearly four years old now and has started to show its age against newer and more frequently updated rivals such as the Hyundai Venue and the Tata Nexon. Maruti Suzuki is developing a facelifted version of the Brezza now and could launch it by June.

The updated Brezza will likely feature minor cosmetic changes such as restyled bumpers, redesigned headlamp and tail lamp graphics, and a new radiator grille and lower air intake grille. Maruti Suzuki may also offer new 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels and one or two new paint options on the refreshed Brezza.

Inside, the new Brezza could feature a redesigned dashboard, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system instead of the outgoing model’s 9-inch unit, and new upholstery. Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission in the Brezza with the mid-cycle update. The company may continue offering the current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine with 5-speed MT and CVT options, though. The CNG variant will likely gain a new, underbody gas tank for improved boot space.

2. New Maruti Baleno

Launched in 2015, the Maruti Baleno is well over a decade old now and ideally should have been replaced by a fully redesigned model. Yet, Maruti Suzuki is working on a second facelift following the first one in 2022 and could introduce it in the coming months. The first refresh wasn’t an extensive one, and the second one is likely to be even more subtle.

Spy shots have revealed that the new Baleno will feature a new radiator grille with a wide horizontal slat splitting multiple vertical slats. The lower air intake grille and front bumper may also be new, but the rest of the exterior may be entirely the same. Inside, the design is unlikely to be any different from the current model, and only the seat covers could be new. No mechanical changes are expected with this update.

3. New Maruti Fronx

The Maruti Fronx has become one of the company’s best-selling models in a span of just three years. Maruti Suzuki started its production in March 2023, and by August 2025, it had already manufactured 5 lakh units. The company is preparing a facelift for the Baleno-derived SUV to continue the momentum.

The new Fronx should feature the usual cosmetic changes seen with facelifts, such as restyled bumpers, new grilles, tweaked lights, and new wheels. Inside, Maruti Suzuki could replace the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 10.1-inch unit and introduce a few more new features.

The biggest update in the new Fronx, however, will be the availability of a new series-hybrid powertrain. The new variant will use the Z12E 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine as a generator to charge a small high-voltage battery, which in turn will power an electric motor that drives the wheels. This setup is said to deliver a fuel economy of over 35 km/l. Maruti Suzuki may launch the new Fronx and Fronx Hybrid in early 2027.
