Nissan Tekton will make its global debut on July 9 and it will share the platform with latest Duster; design inspired by Patrol
The forthcoming Tekton has been spotted again and the new spy image shows production-spec LED tail lamps, final rear glass, roof rails, rear wiper, bumper inserts and the Tekton name spread across the tailgate. The rear section has a wide black panel below the windshield carrying the Nissan badge at the centre while a slim full-width light strip runs across the tailgate and connects the tail-lamp area on both sides.
The main tail lamps sit at the edges and have rectangular lighting elements enabling the SUV a wider visual stance from the back. The Tekton lettering is placed across the lower part of the tailgate below the number plate recess as well. The rear bumper has thick black cladding, silver-finished lower inserts and horizontal reflector housings at either side.
The lower bumper design gives the SUV a prominent stance matching the upright body style already seen in earlier teasers and spy shots. The high-mounted stop lamp is housed below the roof spoiler while the rear wiper sits on the tailgate glass. The roof rails are visible on both sides and the rear quarter section shows a boxy shoulder line.

Nissan had earlier revealed the front end of the Tekton through teasers. The SUV gets TEKTON lettering across the bonnet edge, a wide grille, horizontal front detailing, a red accent strip, rectangular LED headlamps, vertical DRLs, a raised central bonnet and large outside mirrors. The five-seater will sit above the Magnite and Gravite in Nissan’s India lineup and will enter the midsize SUV segment.
It will share its platform with the new Renault Duster but Nissan has given the model a separate design direction. The front and rear styling suggest a more upright approach compared to the Renault sibling as it takes plenty of inspiration from the global Patrol. Powertrain details have not been officially announced but the Tekton could share engine options with the new Duster including turbo petrol choices. Hybrid availability also remains unconfirmed for now.

The upcoming SUV will rival Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor. The Tekton is the next major Nissan launch for India after the Gravite while a larger three-row C-SUV is expected to join the range later.
