The revised version of the entry-level Tata Tiago ICE and Tiago EV will get notable updates inside and out
Introduced in November 2015 and launched in April 2016, the Tata Tiago is well over a decade old now. Despite the two facelifts in January 2020 and January 2025, the city car has started to show its age. The same goes for its electric variant, which was first showcased in February 2018, launched in September 2022, and given a facelift in January 2025.
Tata Motors has no plans to fully redesign the Tiago series for a second generation anytime soon. The company is instead working on another facelift, spy shots have revealed. Road-testing of the updated version is in full swing, ahead of an expected launch in May.
The new Tiago and new Tiago.ev will likely feature redesigned headlamps, a new radiator grille and lower air intake grille, restyled bumpers, and new 15-inch (ICE)/14-inch (EV) alloy wheels. One or more paint options may also be part of the exterior changes on the facelifted models.

The visual changes may not be limited to the exterior. Tata Motors could be planning minor revisions for the dashboard, an LCD instrument cluster, and new trim and upholstery. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system could get some software updates for a smoother and snappier experience, as well as some new functions and apps.
Currently, the Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago.ev are not available with rear AC vents. Tata Motors may introduce this feature in both cars with the upcoming refresh, which would be a welcome upgrade considering the ongoing summer season. The company may also introduce a USB charging port in the rear.

The new Tiago is unlikely to see any changes with respect to engines or transmissions. The new Tiago.ev may get a 30 kWh LFP battery pack instead of the current model’s 25 kWh unit, but the 19.2 kWh LFP unit could be carried over. The 30 kWh unit could deliver a range of around 325 kilometres, as compared to 293 kilometres from the 25 kWh unit.
With the various cosmetic and technical upgrades, the new Tiago series will likely be slightly more expensive. For reference, the current Tiago’s prices range from Rs. 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs. 8.20 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tiago.ev costs Rs. 7.99-11.14 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the trim.
