Tata Sierra EV will be equipped with two battery packs with the claimed range going over 500 km between charges; AWD variant likely
The Tata Sierra EV will be introduced in India on June 30 placing the revived nameplate into the company’s electric vehicle range for the first time. The model will become the seventh Tata EV sold in India and will be positioned below the Harrier EV. While the battery, motor output, charging capability and certified range have not been disclosed, the current possibilities involve either hardware related to the Curvv EV or a setup derived from the Harrier EV.
The latest teaser concentrates on the front section of the production model. The upper fascia carries a full-width LED daytime running light while the main LED headlamps sit lower on either side. The sealed grille area replaces the conventional intake used on the combustion-powered Sierra and the outer bumper sections carry vertical lamp housings.
The clamshell bonnet has been retained preserving one of the key visual elements shared across the Sierra range. The body-coloured front panel and cleaner bumper treatment help separate the electric model from the petrol and diesel variants. The upright silhouette seen on earlier display vehicles has also been carried into the production version as expected.

The cabin is expected to use the same basic architecture as the standard Sierra. The equipment list could feature a three-screen dashboard, JBL audio, Dolby Atmos support, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, connected vehicle functions, an electric parking brake, and a powered tailgate. The safety package could add Level 2 ADAS, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers amongst others.
The Tata Sierra EV’s market entry will position it directly against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Kia Carens Clavis EV, MG ZS EV and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. We do believe that the 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs found in the Harrier EV will be shared with the Sierra EV enabling both RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations.

The claimed driving range could go well over 500 km between charges while bi-directional charging facility will also be available along with DC fast charging support. The teaser arrives shortly after Tata Motors introduced the revised Tiago range in petrol, CNG and electric versions which was preceded by the launch of the facelifted Punch ICE and Punch EV.
