Honda ADV 160 is expected to go on sale before the end of 2026 or in early 2027 in India and it will take on Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160 and the likes
The Honda ADV 160 could enter the Indian market before the end of 2026 or in early 2027 to take on the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160 and TVS Ntorq 150. The segment has seen plenty of activity in recent years and Honda appears set to grab a pie. Here are the key details you should know about it:
1. Dimensions, Wheels And Chassis
The well proportioned Honda ADV 160 measures 1,950 mm in length, 763 mm in width, and 1,196 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 1,324 mm while the seat is positioned 780 mm above the ground. The scooter weighs 133 kg and carries an 8.1-litre fuel tank. The double-cradle frame is suspended by telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. The front uses a 14-inch wheel fitted to a 110/80 tyre while the rear gets a 13-inch wheel paired to a 130/70 tyre. The tubeless tyre arrangement and 165 mm ground clearance should suit varied Indian road conditions.
2. Engine And Transmission
The 156.9 cc single-cylinder eSP+ engine in the maxi-scooter uses liquid cooling, four valves, a single overhead camshaft and PGM-FI fuel injection. The output stands at 15.8 hp at 8,500 rpm accompanied by 14.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The CVT handles transmission duties. The ACG starter system allows quieter engine starts while idle-stop technology shuts down the engine during stationary periods.

3. Brakes And Electronic Assistance
The braking hardware of the Honda Adv 160 consists of a disc at each end. The front brake receives single-channel ABS while the rear disc operates without anti-lock intervention. The Honda Selectable Torque Control system is also part of the equipment package and it could be offered in the top-spec trim. The system manages rear-wheel traction by adjusting engine output when slip is detected.
4. Design And Rider Equipment
The body uses a tall windscreen, a beak-style front section, angular panels, a long single-piece seat and an upright riding posture. The windscreen can be adjusted according to rider preference while the under-seat compartment provides storage for everyday items. The lighting system uses LED units throughout as the equipment package is brimmed. The scooter also receives a fully digital LCD instrument panel, a USB charging socket and the Honda Smart Key system for keyless operation.

5. India Launch And Positioning
The ADV 160 would give Honda an entry into the growing Indian maxi-scooter category. The 156.9 cc engine places it close to the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160 while the 165 mm ground clearance and adventure-style bodywork separate it visually from the TVS Ntorq 150.
