Kia’s compact electric SUV, the Syros EV, could offer 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options while retaining the familiar design of its ICE counterpart
Kia is gearing up to introduce the Syros EV on July 23 and new spy photographs have now revealed the electric SUV completely undisguised ahead of its official debut. The images confirm that the EV retains almost every exterior element from the internal combustion engined Syros with only a handful of EV-specific changes as we have expected.
The overall styling remains virtually unchanged from the standard Syros. The prototype wears the familiar Ivory Silver Matte paint finish already available on the petrol and diesel versions. The signature vertically stacked LED lighting, upright proportions, flush-fitting door handles and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels have all been carried over unchanged.
One noticeable difference is the charging port which has been integrated into the front left fender. The rear section is also identical to the ICE model featuring the same tail lamp arrangement and tailgate design. Although the cabin is only partially visible in the latest spy shots, it appears to carry over the dual-tone interior theme from the regular Syros.

Given the absence of major exterior revisions, the equipment list is also expected to mirror the ICE variant. Features are likely to include dual digital displays (one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment), automatic climate control, connected car technology, ambient LED lighting, ventilated front seats and the segment-first sliding and reclining second-row seats.
The Korean brand is also expected to include a 360-degree camera unit, Level 2 ADAS suite and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. Earlier expectations suggested the Syros EV would be offered exclusively with a 42 kWh battery pack. However, new reports indicate Kia could also introduce a larger 51.4 kWh battery on high-end variants to offer an expansive range.

The bigger battery would likely be reserved for fully loaded trims and could deliver a significantly higher driving range giving the Syros EV an advantage in a segment where range remains one of the biggest purchase considerations. The Kia Syros EV is expected to be priced between Rs. 13.5 lakh and Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom).
