Mini recorded over 500 unit sales between January and June 2026 in India and registered a massive 70 per cent YoY surge
Mini India reported a notable performance in the first half of 2026 as the premium hatchback and SUV brand delivered 504 cars between January and June – registering a 70 per cent year-on-year increase. It came on the back of an expanded product portfolio, sold out special editions, growing interest in the Countryman and a expanding retail network across the country.
The company also confirmed that the locally produced Mini Countryman C will play a significant role in its future growth plans. According to the brand, consumer demand remained particularly high for the Countryman while limited-run models such as the Mini Cooper S Victory Edition and Convertible JCW Pack were completely sold out.
The company said these special editions generated high levels of customer interest. The brand is also expanding its retail presence across India under a new initiative. The British manufacturer currently operates 18 sales touchpoints across 17 cities and has outlined plans to enter Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ranchi, Guwahati, Surat, Vijayawada and Lucknow this year.

Existing operations in Mumbai, Pune and Gurugram will also be consolidated too as part of the expansion strategy. Mini says the new retail spaces are created to provide a more immersive and personalised customer interaction while improving accessibility in emerging luxury vehicle markets. Mini expects the locally manufactured Countryman C to widen the brand’s reach by improving affordability and local availability.
The company believes domestic production will enable more customers to enter the Mini ownership ecosystem while supporting the next line of volume growth. Mini also stayed put building engagement through experiential events. The company’s Mini Go-Kart Days programme lured in noticeable participation during the first half of the year.

Commenting on the results, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said “MINI India has had a remarkable start to 2026, growing by +70% in the first half of the year. This momentum reflects the strong connection customers have with MINI’s unmistakable design, spirited performance and vibrant lifestyle appeal. The success of our special editions and the continued popularity of the MINI Countryman show how strongly MINI’s unique character is resonating in India.”
