Tata Sierra EV is available with a packed features list right from the base Pure variant which is priced at Rs. 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata Motors has positioned the Pure variant as the entry point to its Sierra EV electric SUV lineup for a price tag of Rs. 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Despite sitting at the bottom of the range, the Pure trim comes loaded with equipment that was previously reserved for higher variants in many SUVs. It is offered with the 63 kWh battery pack in rear-wheel-drive form and sits below the Pure S, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered A grades.
On the outside, it gets full-width LED lighting, projector LED headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, signature Sierra rear quarter glass, 18-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles, roof spoiler, shark-fin antenna and Ultra Glide suspension which combines an independent multi-link rear setup with Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD).
Tata also offers a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof on the base variant which is apparently a feature rarely seen at this price point. The SUV carries an upright stance along with generous ground clearance and squared-off proportions that stay close to the concept shown earlier and in line with its ICE counterpart. Stepping inside, the Acti.ev+ platform model gains a dual-tone cabin finished with fabric upholstery.

The equipment list includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker audio system comprising four speakers and four tweeters, automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, connected car technology through the iRA.ev suite with more than 70 connected functions and 5G capability, multiple USB charging ports, keyless entry and drive modes.
Tata has also equipped the SUV with a rotary drive selector and regenerative braking functions. It is high on safety as well as the base trim comes equipped with Electronic Stability Program featuring 19 safety functions, six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, rear parking sensors and a comprehensive set of active safety systems.

Mechanically, it uses a 63 kWh battery pack driving the rear wheels while larger battery and all-wheel-drive options are reserved for high-end variants. The lineup offers a claimed driving range of up to 665 km in larger battery form with the real-world range standing between 510 and 530 km. Bookings are underway and deliveries are scheduled to commence from mid-July.
The base variant will be good enough for a range of 440 to 460 km on a single charge in real-world conditions. At its starting price, the Sierra EV takes on rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3 and it is a package worth having a look at in terms of value for money.
