In the review video linked below, we put the new Renault Duster through diverse conditions including city traffic, open highways and winding mountain roads
Renault India announced the prices of the third generation Duster last week. Based on the heavily localised RGMP platform which also supports electrification unlike the European CMF-B, the midsize SUV is priced competitively between Rs. 10.49 lakh and Rs. 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in an expansive range.
The French auto major only announced prices of the 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.3L turbo petrol versions of the new Duster as the much-awaited 1.8L petrol hybrid mill will only arrive later this calendar year. We put the new five-seater through its paces for around 300 km across diverse conditions including city traffic, open highways and winding roads in Dehradun.
The 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine develops 160 PS and 280 Nm and its mileage test as well as the detailed drive review has been given below. The powertrain is coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission option. The customer deliveries for the regular petrol trims are scheduled to begin next month.

The new-gen Renault Duster measures 4,346 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,703 mm in height with a wheelbase length of 2,657 mm while the ground clearance stands at 212 mm and the boot volume is rated at 700 litres. The exterior boasts several India-specific design elements as the sharp styling, 18-inch wheels and muscular body cladding give it an aggressive look as its predecessor.
The interior is also packed with features such as 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Google services and 60+ in-car connected tech, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument console, ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 filtration, a panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, 35 safety features including a Level 2 ADAS suite, hill descent control, six airbags as standard, drive modes, etc.
