Tata is expected to introduce at least three new electric cars over the next 12-18 months in India and here we have brought you a rundown
With the Harrier EV and the revised Punch EV now part of its active roster, Tata Motors is already looking ahead. The largest electric PV manufacturer in India has three more models in the pipeline – each aimed at a distinct customer profile and set to arrive within the next year or so. The most affordable of the lot is a significantly updated Tiago EV currently in development.
Prototypes caught testing point to a thoroughly reworked exterior as new LED headlamp clusters, revised front and rear bumpers and aero-optimised wheel designs are likely. Larger door mirrors on test vehicles suggest features like a 360-degree camera could make the cut. The interior is also in line for a proper upgrade with a bigger touchscreen, fully digital dials, better quality materials and improved connected car functionality expected.
Perhaps most importantly, the updated Tiago EV may swap in the 30 kWh battery pack from the Punch EV which would push its real-world range noticeably beyond what the current model offers. A step up from the affordable hatch sits the Sierra EV. Slated for launch this quarter it will occupy the space above the Curvv EV in Tata’s lineup.

Battery options are expected to include 55 kWh and 65 kWh packs with a larger 75 kWh dual-motor configuration also potentially on the table. Real-world range in the region of 500 km is possible and the model will support both fast charging and bi-directional charging. On the outside, it largely mirrors the ICE Sierra with EV-tailored details.
A closed-off front grille and subtle aerodynamic enhancements are on the cards while the cabin is expected to closely follow the ICE version’s layout. Sitting at the very top of this incoming trio is the first road-going product from Tata’s Avinya sub-brand. It will be built on a locally developed derivative of JLR’s EMA architecture.

It is expected to debut around early 2027 and will occupy premium territory that Tata has not yet entered with an electric vehicle. Early indications point to a sportback-style roofline, a heavily technology based sophisticated interior and a design language that will likely set the tone for future Avinya models across different body style.
