The range-topping R-Line trim of the Tayron SUV went on sale around five months back in the Indian market
Volkswagen India has launched the Tayron Life at a sticker price of Rs 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. The premium 5-seater SUV is the German brand’s second locally assembled model to be launched this year in India. It is around Rs 5 lakh cheaper than the top-end R-Line grade of the SUV. Volkswagen Tayron Life will be available in a total of seven colour schemes namely Dolphin Grey Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Oyster Silver Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Ultraviolet Metallic, Oryx White Mother-of-Pearl Effect and Grenadilla Black Metallic.
Dimensionally, the Tayron Life measures nearly 4.8 metres in length while the wheelbase stands at slightly over 2.7 metres. The 5-seater SUV comes with a boot capacity of 885 litres which can be further expanded to 2,090 litres by folding the rear seats. The front fascia is dominated by LED headlamps with full LED lens system and illuminated moulding between the headlamps.
The Tayron Life also gets a radiator front grille with illuminated Volkswagen emblem which is flanked by the body-coloured front bumper and silver-coloured front bar. The side profile boasts of black roof rails, body-coloured door panelling, door handles with trough lighting, exterior mirrors with projection lighting and 18-inch “Bologna” alloy wheels with black diamond-turned finish.

Volkswagen has offered a plethora of advanced, upmarket and premium features in the Tayron Life in the form of automatic headlights, 3-zone automatic climate control, ergoActive electric front seats with 12-way adjustment including lumbar support, massage function with 8 programs on front seats, ventilated & heated front seats, rear AC vents with temperature settings, keyless locking and starting system, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and rain-sensing wipers.
The premium SUV also gets the 10.25 Digital Cockpit (all-digital instrument cluster), panoramic sunroof, IDA Digital Voice Assistant, and 12.9-inch ‘Discover’ touchscreen infotainment system. The occupants also have access to an 8-speaker audio system, rear-view camera system, 2× USB ports under the intermediate floor in front and 2x USB ports at rear, wireless charger for 2 mobile phones and wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

A few standout safety features onboard the Tayron Life SUV are 9 airbags, Tyre pressure monitoring system, Hill Start Assist & Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Needless to mention, Level 2 ADAS suite is also a part of the standard safety features along with 14 distinct features. At the heart, the SUV has the 2.0L TSI EVO petrol engine which generates max power of 148 bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission with 4MOTION all-wheel drive technology.
