Toyota recorded 32,086 units in April 2026 – up 17 per cent from 27,329 units sold during the same period last year
The Innova HyCross crossing the 2 lakh cumulative sales milestone was a key highlight of Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s April 2026 performance. The achievement shows a sustained and growing preference among Indian buyers for strong hybrid powertrains – a segment where Toyota continues to operate without any major competition as demonstrated by its sales figures last FY.
On the overall numbers, Toyota recorded 32,086 units in April 2026 – up 17 per cent from 27,329 units sold during the same period last year. The domestic market was the apparent engine of this growth with 30,159 units dispatched to dealerships during the month with a 21 per cent year-on-year improvement over the 24,833 units sold domestically in April 2025.
Export volumes moved in the opposite direction during the month as well. TKM shipped 1,927 units overseas in April 2026 – down 23 per cent from 2,496 units in the same month last year. The monthly dip in outbound shipments was, however, absorbed by the strength of domestic retail, leaving the overall growth trajectory intact at 17 per cent for April.

Widening the lens to the January to April 2026 period tells a more complete and consistently positive story. Cumulative total sales for the first four months of the calendar year stood at 1,37,194 units – up 19 per cent from 1,15,157 units in the corresponding period of 2025. The local volumes for the year to date reached 1,26,651 units.
The tally led to a 20 per cent growth over 1,05,798 units recorded between January and April 2025. Unlike the monthly export decline seen in April alone, cumulative export volumes for the four month period actually grew 13 per cent to 10,543 units from 9,359 units in the same window last year. It is no secret that Toyota’s Innova and Fortuner series are accompanied by badge engineered models in garnering sales.
