Mahindra Scorpio stayed on top of the midsize SUV segment in June 2026 while recent launches like Victoris, XUV 7XO and Tata Sierra made impact
The Mahindra Scorpio finished as the best-selling midsize SUV in June 2026 with volume sales of 14,097 units. The SUV recorded an increase of 11 per cent over the 12,740 units posted in June last year. Maruti Suzuki’s recently launched Victoris secured the second position while Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV 7XO and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder rounded out the top five.
Mahindra stayed put dominating the space with two SUVs inside the top four. While the Scorpio retained first place, the recently introduced XUV 7XO added 9,244 units as the appreciable initial response leads to a long waiting period. Tata Motors also made an impact the list with the Sierra which accumulated 6,392 units during the month following its market introduction a few months ago.
Maruti Suzuki had two representatives among the leading six. The Victoris registered 10,035 units to finish second while the Grand Vitara closed the month with 9,092 units – up 33 per cent over the corresponding period last year. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder also delivered a healthy gain of 22 per cent – reaching a domestic tally of 9,104 units.

It is worth noting that the Victoris, Hyryder and Grand Vitara share powertrain options and internal mechanical bits. The Kia Seltos recorded one of the noticeable year-on-year gains among established nameplates last month. Its sales volume climbed from 5,225 units to 9,654 units with an impressive 85 per cent increase courtesy of the arrival of the new generation.
Its sibling, the Hyundai Creta witnessed the biggest decline among the leading models. The monthly sales fell from 15,786 units in June 2025 to 7,168 units last month resulting in a 55 per cent drop due to production disruption. Even with the drop, the Creta remained inside the top ten finishing ahead of the IC-engined Tata Sierra.
