Scheduled to be launched in 2027, Bridger to be one of Renault’s three new models confirmed to be launched by 2030
Renault’s next new model in India may be a three-row SUV, but its most anticipated launch following the all-new Duster is the Bridger. Conceived mainly for India’s sub-4 metre segment, the Bridger will be positioned above the Kiger but still be an affordable, value-priced model.
Renault plans to offer the Bridger with multiple engine options to meet different customer priorities, including budget, efficiency, and performance. The company is developing a new 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine based on the Duster’s 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit for this model.
While the Duster’s engine features direct injection, the Bridger’s smaller mill will settle for multi-point fuel injection. The lower displacement and a simpler fuel injection system should allow Renault to produce the new engine at a much lower cost and ensure competitive pricing for the vehicle.

The 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will cater to customers seeking no-compromise performance. For customers on a lower budget or having a higher emphasis on fuel economy, Renault will likely offer a naturally aspirated version of the same engine. Both versions will likely be available with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.
Renault is expected to offer a CNG engine option as well, which could be a sub-variant of one of the two aforementioned 1.2-litre petrol engines. The company would need to base it on the turbocharged version if it wants to give strong competition to Tata Motors’ Nexon, the best-selling model in the segment. However, it will likely opt for the naturally aspirated mill, as that would be more fuel-efficient and less costly. Hybrid and pure electric variants are also planned, but they may only follow in 2028.

Featuring a boxy exterior and a high ground clearance of around 200 mm, the Renault Bridger will possess an authentic SUV character. The interior should have a modern-tough theme, much like the all-new Duster, and offer plenty of space for a vehicle of its class. Renault is targeting 200 mm of rear knee room and a boot capacity of 400 litres. The company will likely equip the Bridger with a host of premium features, including a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems.
