Nissan will unveil the Tekton on July 9 as its all-new midsize SUV with underpinnings shared with Duster, Patrol-inspired styling and a feature-loaded cabin
Nissan is all set to take the wraps off the Tekton on July 9 as it is preparing for its global debut. The new midsize SUV will be slotted above the Magnite in the company’s domestic lineup. Sharing its underpinnings with the latest Renault Duster while utilising a completely different design philosophy, the SUV is expected to play a central role in shaping Nissan’s future in India.
Nissan Tekton Design
The Tekton has been developed with styling inspired by the global Nissan Patrol. Official teasers have already revealed an upright fascia carrying TEKTON lettering across the leading edge of the bonnet, a large grille with horizontal detailing, rectangular LED headlamps, vertically stacked daytime running lights and a contrasting red trim element stretching across the front.
The raised bonnet, muscular wheel arches and upright body profile are accompanied by the same squared-off design at the rear with a sleek full-width LED light bar that links the outer lighting elements while the main tail lamps feature rectangular signatures positioned at the extreme edges.

Nissan lettering occupies the centre section below the rear glass while TEKTON branding extends across the lower tailgate beneath the registration plate recess. Thick black bumper cladding, silver skid-style inserts, integrated reflectors, roof rails, rear spoiler and rear wiper complete the production-ready exterior design.
Nissan Tekton Interior & Features
The SUV is expected to borrow much of its equipment from the latest Duster. Top-end variants should feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, wireless smartphone charging and a six-speaker Arkamys sound system.

A large panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with multiple colour options, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, passive keyless entry, push-button start and a powered tailgate are also likely. It will also get ventilated front seats, lumbar adjustment, paddle shifters on automatic versions and a spacious boot. The cabin will also boast premium upholstery, an auto-dimming inside mirror and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
Nissan Tekton Safety

The Japanese auto major is expected to equip the Tekton with Level 2 ADAS bringing technologies such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring and forward collision warning. A 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, electronic stability programme, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, etc.
Nissan Tekton Engine & Performance
Mechanically, the Tekton will ride on the same platform as the new Duster. The SUV is expected to offer the familiar 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100 PS and 160 Nm alongside a 1.3-litre turbo petrol developing 163 PS and 280 Nm. Transmission choices could comprise a six-speed manual and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. While Renault also offers an E-Tech hybrid, Nissan has not confirmed whether that powertrain will be introduced at launch.

Nissan Tekton Rivals
The Tekton will compete in one of India’s busiest SUV categories against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor. Following the Gravite, it becomes Nissan’s next major product for India, while a larger three-row C-segment SUV has already been confirmed to arrive later.
