Nissan Gravite CNG kit is priced at Rs. 82,999 on an introductory basis and is available across 60 cities in 16 states

Nissan Motor India has introduced a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for the Gravite – making it the first seven-seater in its segment to offer a twin-cylinder CNG setup while retaining full third-row seating. The kit is priced at Rs. 82,999 on an introductory basis and is available across 60 cities in 16 states through Nissan’s authorised dealer network.

The main feature of the Gravite CNG kit is its twin-cylinder configuration of two 25-litre cylinders which allows the system to be integrated without displacing third-row passengers or compromising boot space. The setup directly addresses the most common criticism of CNG retrofits in multi-row SUVs where the gas cylinder typically eats into luggage or seating capacity.

Retaining full seven-seat functionality while adding CNG capability is what Nissan is positioning as the key differentiator here. The kit has been developed, manufactured and quality assured by Motozen and carries ICAT approval for certified safety and reliability. Technical highlights include a Sequential BS6.2 compliant system, heavy-duty cylinders with 8.1mm wall thickness for durability and Dynamic Advancer Technology optimised specifically for the Gravite’s engine.

The fuel filling point is positioned under the existing fuel lid for a clean, factory-finish integration and petrol-to-CNG switchover is said to be seamless. A third-party warranty of three years or one lakh kilometres covers all kit components. The Gravite CNG targets high-mileage family users – those managing daily office commutes, school runs and regular intercity trips who want the running cost benefits of CNG without giving up the practicality of a proper seven-seater.

In CNG-dense urban markets, the per-kilometre savings over petrol could be substantial making the Rs 82,999 kit cost recoverable over a reasonable period of regular use. The Gravite made its market debut a few months ago and it has been a major contributor in garnering volumes since its arrival.

Commenting on the new launch, Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President, Middle East, KSA, CIS and India – Nissan and Infiniti, said, “The introduction of the CNG option for the All-New Nissan GRAVITE is a significant step in that direction. With GRAVITE CNG, we are extending a proven, practical solution to customers seeking a combination of family-focused space, everyday mobility, and lower running costs in key CNG markets.”
