New limited-run model targeted at hardcore fans of the MINI GP, with the same practicality as the standard hatchback
MINI has launched the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition in India, priced at Rs. 58.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has introduced it as a limited-edition model with sales capped at 30 units and imports it as a CBU.
The MINI Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is based on the 3-door MINI Cooper. While it borrows cues from the MINI GP, which was the brand’s most powerful and hardcore model ever, it is still a regular 3-door hatchback underneath without any major mechanical upgrades that could compromise everyday drivability.
An exclusive Legend Grey colour, a Chilli Red finish for the roof, mirror caps, and wheel hub caps, and Red/Grey bonnet and side stripes are the highlights of the GP-inspired styling. There’s also a long list of JCW parts, including a spoiler extension, front, side, and rear winglets, a front tow strap, and a rear diffuser. The special edition model sits on 17-inch JCW Sprint Spoke Design alloy wheels. Each unit carries a “1/30” badging on the C-pillar to denote the car’s exclusivity.

Inside, the MINI Cooper S GP Inspired Edition features GP-inspired, silver-coloured, illuminated door sills and GP-inspired floor mats with “1/30” floor mats. Plus, there are several parts in JCW style, including door lock pins, steering wheel, sports seats, and black upholstery to further elevate the sense of sportiness. The front seats feature power adjustment and also include a memory function on the driver’s side.
A 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, a Fisheye Camera that can snap pictures and videos, a wireless charger, a panoramic glass roof, and a Harman Kardon sound system are some additional highlights of the interior of the MINI Cooper S GP Inspired Edition. Under the hood, there’s the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine married to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Packing 150 kW (201 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, the MINI Cooper S GP Inspired Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 242 km/h. The special edition model also features an adaptive suspension and JCW Sport Brakes to match its sportier character.
