Honda has recorded a notable 17 per cent growth in April 2026 with 5.63 lakh units as against 4.80 lakh units
Exports growing 37.4 per cent year-on-year was one of the key takeaways in Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India’s April 2026 performance. Outbound shipments rose to 79,600 units from 57,900 units during the same period last year – outpacing domestic growth in percentage terms and pointing to significant international demand for HMSI’s two-wheeler range.
Pulling back to the headline, Honda recorded total sales of 5.63 lakh units in April 2026 as against 4.80 lakh units during the corresponding period twelve months ago with a 17 per cent year-on-year surge that sets a positive tone for the opening month of the new financial year.
Domestic sales accounted for the bulk of the volume – coming in at 4.84 lakh units for the month with a 14.7 per cent increase over the 4.22 lakh units sold in the home market during April 2025. The growth shows resilient consumer demand across the two-wheeler space with the Japanese broad’s product range composing entry-level commuter motorcycles, premium offerings and a versatile scooter portfolio.

For context on the scale of HMSI’s India operations, the company manufactures across four plants in Manesar, Tapukara, Narsapura and Vithalapur and services customers through a network of over 7,000 touchpoints across the country. That distribution depth gives HMSI a huge reach advantage in multiple tiers of the market where two-wheeler sales has remained particularly firm.
The April 2026 figures also indicates the healthiness of the two-wheeler market which has continued to show resilience despite evolving economic conditions. Demand across segments has held up through the early months of the calendar year and HMSI’s consistent volume performance suggests it is positioned well to capture a fair share as the financial year progresses.

Hero MotoCorp topped the two-wheeler sales charts in April 2026 with total dispatches of 5,66,086 units – a sharp jump from 3,05,406 units during the same period in 2025. The domestic volumes accounted for 5,32,433 units while exports contributed 33,653 units. Within the total, motorcycles led with 5,01,791 units and scooters added 64,295 units.
