Overall, Mahindra posted 14 per cent YoY growth in April 2026 with total sales of 94,627 units; PV business contributed 56,331 domestic units
Mahindra & Mahindra opened FY2026-27 by recording total vehicle sales of 94,627 units in April 2026 with a 14 per cent year-on-year improvement over the same month last year. The numbers comprise sales tally of its SUVs, light commercial vehicles, three-wheelers and export volumes across the company’s automotive portfolio.
The SUV segment which remains the key part of Mahindra’s passenger vehicle business contributed 56,331 domestic units in April 2026 – up 8 per cent from 52,330 units sold during the same period last year. Including exports, total utility vehicle sales for the month stood at 57,833 units – an impressive figure to start off the new FY.
The total includes sales made through subsidiary Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited as the contribution of the company’s INGLO platform based electric SUVs such as the XEV 9e, BE 6 and XEV 9S should not be understated. On the commercial vehicle front, the LCV segment between 2 tonne and 3.5 tonne posted 20,443 units.

It resulted in a 7 per cent year-on-year increase while the sub-2 tonne LCV category grew 13 per cent to 2,984 units. The domestic commercial vehicle sales overall stood at 23,427 units for the month. The main growth number came from the three-wheeler segment which surged a massive 81 per cent year-on-year to 9,899 units from 5,470 units in April 2025.
Exports were another notable contributor with total outbound shipments rising 47 per cent to 4,970 units in April 2026 as against 3,381 units during the same month last year. Mahindra’s PV range boasts consistent selling nameplates like the Bolero, Thar and Scorpio while its recent additions such as the XUV 3XO and XUV 7XO have also been well received by customers.

The brand is currently looking to bring in new SUVs across different segments as the upcoming NU_IQ monocoque architecture is modular in nature accommodating various powertrain choices. Commenting on the sales numbers, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd., “The year 2027 has begun on a positive note in April by achieving SUV sales of 56331 units, a growth of 8% and total vehicle sales of 94627 units, a 14% growth over the same month last year.”
