JSW MG Motor India has become the first OEM to install 1,000 EV chargers across India and confirmed 3 new models in the remainder of this year
JSW MG Motor India has achieved a significant milestone in the country’s EV ecosystem by becoming the first passenger vehicle manufacturer to install 1,000 community EV chargers. More importantly, the company has also confirmed an aggressive product offensive for 2026 with three new electrified vehicles scheduled for launch.
The list includes MG’s first plug-in hybrid offering for the local market. While the charging milestone grabs immediate attention, the upcoming product pipeline could have an even bigger impact on MG’s future growth. Alongside battery electric vehicles, MG is preparing to introduce plug-in hybrid technology enabling consumers to choose between different low-emission mobility solutions.
The charging infrastructure achievement shows how rapidly MG’s EV footprint has expanded in India. Under the MG Charge initiative, the company has installed 1,000 community chargers across more than 470 locations nationwide. The growing infrastructure network has supported a substantial increase in electric vehicle usage.

These chargers have been deployed across residential societies, apartment complexes, hotels, hospitals, industrial parks and educational campuses, helping address one of the biggest concerns associated with EV ownership – charging accessibility. MG has also revealed that its EV customers have collectively covered more than 290 crore kilometres on Indian roads.
According to the company, this has helped prevent around 4.17 lakh metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. MG is also focusing on sustainability within its manufacturing operations. The company’s Halol facility currently meets nearly 95 per cent of its power requirements through renewable energy sources with more than 78 per cent renewable energy utilisation across operations.

These initiatives have contributed to carbon emission savings exceeding 9,300 metric tonnes. Water conservation and waste management have also become key focus areas at the plant. MG says water consumption has been reduced by 23 per cent through process optimisation and recycled water usage.
The facility additionally operates as a Zero External Discharge plant – utilising treated water internally while maintaining a Zero Waste to Landfill Gold certification. Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT integration and digital manufacturing processes are also being used. With the Windsor EV sitting at the top of its volumes charts, the addition of three new electrified products in 2026 could significantly expand the brand’s presence across multiple price segments.
