MG wholesales held above 6,000 units in May 2026 despite supply chain challenges as the Windsor EV continues to lead the way fro the brand
The arrival of the new Majestor flagship SUV coincided with another month of stable volumes for JSW MG Motor India as the company continued to navigate global supply chain disruptions and rising logistics costs. MG reported wholesales of 6,048 units in May 2026 as the numbers come at a time when several manufacturers continue to face component availability issues, higher commodity prices and increased freight costs across supply networks.
Unlike some rivals that have experienced fluctuations in dispatches, MG managed to maintain a relatively steady sales run through resilient manufacturing operations and supply chain management. The company did not disclose model-wise sales figures but its portfolio currently comprises models in internal combustion, electric and premium utility vehicle segments.
A major development during the month was the launch of the Majestor. Positioned as full-size SUV competing with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and others, the new flagship model is more premium than the Gloster. The Majestor 4×2 Automatic Top Trim was introduced at Rs. 40.99 lakh ex-showroom and is available in both six and seven seat configurations.

The range topping 4×4 Automatic Top Trim has been priced at Rs. 44.99 lakh ex-showroom and is offered exclusively with a seven seat layout. Dealer dispatches of the Majestor also commenced during May. The SUV is expected to play a significant role in consolidating MG’s position at the upper end of the market where consumers are increasingly looking for larger and more feature-loaded SUVs.
The Majestor brings a twin turbo diesel engine, four wheel drive technology, triple differential locks and a long list of premium features. The Majestor is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5 PS and 478.5 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is offered as standard across both 4×2 and 4×4 variants.

The cabin boasts ventilated and massaging front seats, dual 12.3-inch displays, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, dual wireless chargers, more than 75 connected car features, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree HD camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, ESP, traction control, etc.
