Tesla Model Y L gets a dual-motor AWD setup enabling a zero to 100 kmph sprint in just 5.0 seconds while the top speed is rated at 201 kmph
Tesla has officially introduced the long-wheelbase six-seater version of the Model Y in India as it joins the regular Model Y in the brand’s domestic lineup. The Model Y L Premium (All-Wheel Drive) carries a starting price of Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and one of the headline figures is its claimed WLTP range of up to 681 km on a single charge.
Performance is equally noteworthy with the dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup enabling a zero to 100 kmph sprint in just 5.0 seconds while the top speed is rated at 201 kmph. The configuration revealed has confirmed the presence of a Stealth Grey exterior finish which is compounded by 19-inch Crossflow alloy wheels and a black-themed interior.
As the “L” badge suggests, the extended version of the Model Y offers a three-row layout with six seats and it makes the model more practical for larger families. Cargo capacity is rated at a substantial 2,539 litres. The Model Y L Premium features an advanced infotainment system backed by subscription-based connected services.

Customers are offered a 30-day trial for premium connectivity and after which a standard network connection including navigation remains usable for up to eight years. The cabin is also equipped with an 18+1 speaker premium audio system. In terms of hardware, the Model Y is based on Tesla’s dedicated EV architecture featuring a low centre of gravity due to its floor-mounted battery pack.
While exact India-spec dimensions are not listed on the sheet, globally the long-wheelbase version measures over 4.7 metres in length with an extended wheelbase to accommodate the third row. It also gains Tesla’s driver assist suite, multiple airbags, stability systems and over-the-air software updates.
