Aprilia SR 125 & SR 175 Tribute Editions gets a new colour scheme which uses a military green base finished in matte paint
Aprilia has today announced the launch of the SR 125 and SR 175 Tribute Editions in India at Rs. 1.17 lakh and Rs. 1.24 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The special versions introduce a military-themed exterior package while retaining the engines, transmissions, chassis components and equipment offered on the regular scooters.
The new colour scheme uses a military green base finished in matte paint. The front apron and side panels carry yellow and red stripes while camouflage graphics cover prominent sections of the bodywork. The 14-inch wheels retain red rim accents creating a common visual theme across the SR 125 and SR 175 Tribute Editions in the domestic market.
The SR 125 Tribute Edition costs around Rs. 3,000 more than the corresponding standard version. Meanwhile, the SR 175 Tribute Edition carries a smaller premium of nearly Rs. 2,000 over the regular scooter. The SR 125 uses a 124 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine producing a maximum power output of 10.6 hp and 10.4 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is connected to a CVT. The steel frame, telescopic front fork, rear monoshock and brakes are carried over from the standard model. The SR 175 receives a 174 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine developing 13.2 hp and 14.1 Nm. The higher capacity motor also works through a CVT and offers better acceleration than the SR 125.
The regular SR 175 can reach a claimed top speed of around 95 kmph. The equipment package on the SR 175 comprises a colour TFT instrument display, Bluetooth connectivity, an LED headlamp, an LED tail lamp and a single-channel ABS system. The braking arrangement uses a front disc and rear drum while the suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork and rear monoshock.
The SR 125 also gets equipment according to its corresponding standard variant. The Tribute Editions of the Aprilia SR 125 and SR 175 will look to target consumers seeking a distinct visual treatment without changes to the mechanicals. The duo’s bookings have opened through authorised Aprilia dealerships across India and customer deliveries are expected to begin soon.
