The launch timeline for Tata Sierra EV has been confirmed to be between July and September 2026 according to the brand’s MD & CEO Shailesh Chandra
Tata Motors has confirmed the Sierra EV will arrive in the second quarter of FY2026-27 – placing the launch window between July and September 2026. The confirmation puts an end to speculation around the timeline with the electric SUV having been spotted testing extensively across the country over the past several months.
The Sierra EV will sit above the Curvv EV and below the current flagship electric vehicle, the Harrier EV, in Tata’s all-electric range riding on the Acti.ev+ platform and sharing core components with the Harrier EV which has been well received by customers.
Two battery options are expected – a 55 kWh pack from the electrified Curvv and a larger 65 kWh unit – with the bigger battery rumoured to deliver a real-world range of more than 500 km in a single charge. Both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations are possible.

In addition, it can be replenished through DC fast charger while bidirectional charging (V2L and V2V) will be supported. The cabin is expected to feature a three-screen layout comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument console and a 12.3-inch front passenger display while OTA updates and connected tech will also be available.
Other key highlights of the Tata Sierra EV are a suite of Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, powered front seats and dual-zone climate control on higher variants. Pricing will more likely start around Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom) making it one of the competitively positioned electric SUVs in the midsize space against the likes of Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XEV 9e and more.

The exterior will undergo minor updates compared to its IC-engined sibling including a closed-off front grille while the interior theme could be different. However, the overall cabin layout and the equipment list will be broadly similar.
