2026 Honda City gets a refreshed exterior and interior while the familiar mechanical package will likely stay put
Honda Cars India is all preparing to introduce the facelifted City on May 22, 2026 along with the ZR-V which will be brought into the county via CBU route. The Japanese manufacturer has also been caught testing the updated midsize sedan multiple times and ahead of its market launch, its fully undisguised images have been leaked online.
As expected, the brand’s most popular nameplate in India gets cosmetic changes as the revisions are evolutionary considering that it is not a new-gen enhancement. On the outside, the 2026 Honda City gains a reworked front fascia enabling a sharper stance. A new black grille has been brought in hexagonal inserts this time around.
The new bumper comprises updated air intake and fog lamp housings. The Honda badge has been grafted below the bonnet while a set of newly designed black alloy wheels is another key highlight. While the undisguised pictures of the rear are not out yet, we can sense multiple changes including a new tail lamp with revised inserts, updated bumper, etc.

We can also expect new colour schemes to join the fray to ensure a refreshed vibe. However, no powertrain changes are likely as the familiar 1.5L four-cylinder NA petrol and the 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines will be carried over. The former kicks out a maximum power output of 121 hp and 145 Nm while the latter develops around 126 hp.
As for transmission, a six-speed manual and a CVT will stay put. The hybrid version could be offered in an expanded grade to appeal to a wide band of consumers but no official confirmation has been made yet. Currently, the Honda City is priced between Rs. 12.05 lakh and Rs. 16.12 lakh (ex-showroom) and the facelift may command a minor price increase.

On the inside, Honda could equip a larger touchscreen infotainment system with improved connectivity options, an updated instrument cluster, a suite of ADAS, upgraded surface trims and materials alongside new leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats at the front, a 360-degree camera system and a host of new feature additions.
