In the list of top 20 7-seaters in FY26, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga led the way with a total of 1,98,876 units as it garnered 21.3 per cent market share

The 7-seater segment in India posted notable growth in FY26 crossing 9.34 lakh units and the numbers show how a certain few key models dominate the space while others remain niche offerings. Leading the way by a big margin is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with 1,98,876 units – growing 4.1 per cent YoY and commanding a massive 21.3 per cent share.

It continues to be the go-to family MPV thanks to its affordability and practicality. Right behind it, the Mahindra Scorpio clocked 1,78,800 units with an 8.5 per cent growth as the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N helped the brand to move up to second in the overall volume standings. In third place, the Toyota Innova HyCross along with the Crysta managed 1,12,188 units.

It resulted in an appreciable 4.6 per cent growth on a YoY basis – maintaining its premium MPV dominance. The Mahindra Bolero followed closely with 1,10,136 units – posting a 16.2 per cent surge as the MUV remain a popular product across the length and breadth of the country for over two decades now.

The combined tally of the Mahindra XUV 700 and XUV 7XO stood at 87,412 units but saw a 6.1 per cent decline understandably. The homegrown manufacturer introduced the XUV 7XO only a few months ago as an upgraded replacement to the XUV 700 with multiple changes inside and out. Meanwhile, the Kia Carens and Clavis duo impressed with 76,837 units – registering a healthy 18.9 per cent jump.

The Carens Clavis is currently sold in ICE and electric guises as the expanded range has been well received by customers in the domestic market. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 remained stable at 37,159 units with marginal 0.1 per cent growth. The premium Toyota Fortuner posted 35,216 units – up 7.4 per cent – continuing its stronghold in the full-size SUV space.

Further down, the Renault Triber saw one of the highest growth rates at 26.5 per cent thanks to the arrival of a brand new generation as it reached 25,174 units while the Toyota Rumion grew by 11.6 per cent to 24,425 units. On the flip side, the Tata Safari dipped slightly by 2.6 per cent to 19,508 units and the Hyundai Alcazar saw a decline of 27.7 per cent – ending the fiscal at 12,393 units.

Among new entries, the Mahindra XEV 9S registered 7,896 units since its launch only a few months ago while the Nissan Gravite added 2,375 units. In the premium end, the Skoda Kodiaq recorded 1,793 units with a positive 7.9 per cent increase while the Toyota Vellfire surged 28.4 per cent to 1,483 units. The Jeep Meridian saw a slight drop of 5.2 per cent with 1,201 units. The Kia Carnival declined significantly by 35.8 per cent to 874 units and the Mahindra Marazzo managed only 381 units. Lastly, the Volkswagen Tayron made a quiet entry with 238 units.
