Kia Sets New All-Time High March And Q1 Sales Record In India

GaadiWaadi –

New Kia Seltos (10)

With nearly 30,000 cars sold, last month was Kia’s best-ever March in India. The company says it delivered its strongest-ever quarterly performance as well

Kia just recorded its best-ever March and first quarter in India this year. The company only sells SUVs and MPVs in our market and says it is seeing strong demand for all the locally manufactured models.

In March alone, Kia delivered 29,112 cars in India, and compared to 25,525 units sold in the same month last year, this represented a 14.5% growth. Compared to Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata Motors, and Hyundai, though, the company continues to remain a small player in our market. Its Sister brand, Hyundai, for instance, sold 69,004 cars last month, including 55,064 in domestic sales and 13,940 units in exports.

Kia says that the second-generation Seltos has consistently contributed more than 10,000 units to its monthly sales since its launch in January this year. Unlike the first-generation model, the latest one faces much fiercer competition in India, with the all-new Tata Sierra and the all-new Renault Duster now also on sale and the choices for premium mid-size SUV customers being wider than ever before.

Hyundai, on the other hand, shipped 2,08,275 cars in Q1 2026, including 1,66,578 units in domestic sales and 41,697 units in exports, achieving a year-on-year growth of 8.7%.

It also offers three imported models in our market: Carnival, EV6, and EV9. It does not assemble any of these imports and sources them in a completely built-up form from South Korea.

The new launches will expand its line-up in our market to nine cars. Kia operates in 390 locations across India, through a wide network of 862 touchpoints. The company has also set up 124 certified pre-owned sales outlets in the country.
