Kia says petrol variants account for 60 per cent of cumulative sales while Carens Clavis EV delivers up to 490 km claimed driving range
Kia India has announced that cumulative sales of the Carens family have crossed the three lakh unit milestone in the domestic market. The achievement comes as the company continues expanding the lineup with the Carens Clavis and the recently introduced Carens Clavis EV allowing customers to choose from petrol, diesel and electric powertrains.
The Carens has evolved since its launch through regular updates. Kia has also consolidated the portfolio by introducing the Carens Clavis as a more premium alternative followed by the Carens Clavis EV that brings an all-electric option without compromising on passenger space or seating flexibility in recent times. The expansion has enabled the Carens series to appeal to a wider range of family-based customer requirements.
The Carens lineup is offered with petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options. Petrol variants account for 60 per cent of cumulative sales while diesel models contribute 30 per cent. The remaining 10 per cent comes from the recently introduced electric version. Kia also noted that 18 per cent of customers have opted for the high-end variants indicating greater preference for additional safety equipment, connected tech and features.

The Carens Clavis EV is offered with two battery pack options. The larger 51.4 kWh battery delivers a claimed driving range of up to 490 km while the 42 kWh version is rated at 404 km. Power comes from 99 kW and 126 kW electric motor options – each producing 255 Nm of torque. Kia claims the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 39 minutes through a DC fast charger.
Both six- and seven-seat configurations continue to be available across the Carens range. Kia has also been expanding its retail presence across India over the years. The company now operates in 407 cities through 892 sales and service touchpoints. Commenting on the achievement, Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India said,

“The 300,000-unit milestone for the Carens underscores its position as a segment leader and a true gamechanger in the MPV space. This achievement is a direct result of our product-led strategy, our sharp understanding of customer needs, and our unwavering focus on quality. It strengthens our conviction that the Carens is the benchmark for its class, and we are energized to build on this momentum as we accelerate our growth journey.”
