New teaser previews the New Mitsubishi Pajero’s cabin and lighting elements before its official unveiling later this year globally
Mitsubishi has offered another glimpse of the next generation Pajero ahead of its global debut scheduled for autumn 2026 with a new teaser video released during the brand’s Star Camp event in Japan. While the fifth-gen SUV remains hidden from public view, a select group of attendees were given an early look at the production model offering new details about its design, interior and overall character.
As opposed to previous teasers that gave a sneak peek of the exterior styling cues, the new teaser captures the reactions of Star Camp participants after viewing the SUV in person. Amidst avoiding the fully reveal of the vehicle, brief glimpses confirm a black and beige dual-tone interior featuring stitched door panels and a noticeably more premium cabin than earlier generations of the Pajero.
Participants who previewed the SUV described it as muscular yet elegant ensuring that Mitsubishi has combined prominent upright proportions with a more modern appearance. The redesigned cabin has also received praise with attendees pointing at generous interior room and comfortable seating. Grab handles integrated into the cabin were also seen – retaining a practical element associated with the Pajero.

The teaser concludes with a dramatic front view of the SUV concealed beneath a cover allowing only the H-shaped LED lighting signature to shine through. While the bodywork remains hidden, subtle contours beneath the fabric provide a look at the upright proportions and boxy formula expected from the upcoming ladder-frame flagship SUV.
Mechanically, Mitsubishi has already confirmed that the new Pajero will be based on the latest Triton pickup truck and continue with a body-on-frame construction. Despite sharing its underpinnings with the Triton, the Pajero will feature unique suspension tuning, chassis calibration and refinement upgrades amongst other revisions pertaining to on- and off-road.

The teaser also shows Mitsubishi’s intention to position the new Pajero as a significantly more premium offering than before. Earlier previews had already showcased the SUV’s distinctive front lighting signature and introduced a digital Multi Meter display inspired by the iconic triple-gauge pod fitted to previous Pajero generations. It will boast a large touchscreen display, driver assistance systems, connected tech and more.
