Tata Punch retained the top position while Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Hyundai, Kia and Toyota featured prominently in June 2026 SUV sales
In June 2026, compact and midsize SUV offerings occupied a significant share of the monthly sales chart as nearly 15 models featured in the overall top 25 table. Tata Motors secured the top two positions through the Punch and Nexon while Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Hyundai, Kia and Toyota also recorded healthy volumes across multiple segments.
Tata Punch emerged as the country’s highest-selling SUV in June 2026 after recording 21,006 units when compared to 10,446 units during the corresponding month last year. The micro SUV more than doubled its tally with 101 per cent year-on-year growth. The Tata Nexon followed closely in second position after recording 18,335 units as it posted 58 per cent growth over 11,602 units sold in June 2025.
The Mahindra Scorpio range – Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic combined – claimed third place with 14,097 units – up from 12,740 units last year. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx finished fourth after posting 13,135 units by reporting a healthy 34 per cent increase. The Hyundai Venue rounded out the top five with 10,776 units – gaining 57 per cent over its performance during the same period last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra continued its strong showing through the Thar which registered 10,669 units while the XUV 3XO got past 10,000 units as well by delivering 42 per cent year-on-year growth. Maruti Suzuki’s recently launched Victoris ended up eighth in the rankings with 10,035 units – giving the company another volume contributor in the SUV space.
Kia Seltos delivered one of the biggest percentage improvements among established midsize SUVs as its sales climbed to 9,654 units – compared to 5,225 units a year earlier with a massive 85 per cent growth as it rounded out the top ten by finishing just below the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder finished outside the top ten after recording 9,104 units – registering 22 per cent year-on-year growth.

As you might expect, the legacy carmakers ruled the roost once again in June 2026. Tata Motors occupied the top two positions while Mahindra placed three SUVs inside the top ten and Maruti Suzuki consolidated its portfolio through Fronx, Victoris and Brezza.
