Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sees strong demand especially for EVs, in June 2026, with sales volume up 183% year-on-year
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has announced it sold 63,083 cars in the month of June this year. The company saw a 69% year-on-year growth in sales last month (June 2025: 37,237 units). Unlike Maruti Suzuki, TMPV does not export in big volumes. Of the 63,083 total cars sold, 62,076 were shipped in the domestic market, and only 1,007 units were exported.
However, while the overall volume is low, performance has improved significantly over the last year. In June 2025, the company exported only 154 cars, which means its overseas shipments were up 554% last month. TMPV has also released its sales figures for the first quarter of FY2026. The company sold 1,80,166 cars in Q1 FY2027 in the domestic market, which, compared to Q1 FY2026 (123,839 units), marked a 45% growth.
Its exports saw a 148% year-on-year growth during this period, going up from 970 units to 2,408 units. In total, the company registered 1,82,574 units in Q1 FY 2027 sales, with a solid 46% year-on-year growth (Q1 FY2026: 1,24,809 units).

TMPV gave the Tata Tiago and Tata Punch, as well as their electric variants, a facelift in the first half of the year. The company says the new Tata Tiago and new Tata Punch have received an overwhelming response across powertrain types. The all-new Tata Sierra’s volumes were impacted by supply constraints in Q1 FY2027, but customer interest and bookings are strong. TMPV is working with its vendors to correct the situation and will ramp up deliveries this quarter.
EVs are particularly in high demand at TMPV. The company says it recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of 14,800 EVs in June 2026, up 183% year-on-year (June 2025: 5,228 units). These figures include both domestic sales and exports. Q1 FY2027 EV sales volume, including exports, stood at 34,467 units, marking a 112% year-on-year growth (Q1 FY2026: 16,231 units).
