The new Tata Sierra EV teaser shows the production-spec exterior in desert and city shots along with a brief cabin glimpse ahead of launch on June 30
Tata Motors has released a new teaser of the Sierra EV ahead of its launch as it shows the SUV across desert and city settings while a brief interior shot also confirms a few cabin details. The Sierra EV is scheduled to debut on June 30 and will sit below the Harrier EV in Tata’s electric SUV range.
The rear three-quarter shot gives a full view of the tail section. The Sierra EV gets a wide blacked-out rear glass area, a full-width LED tail lamp, a roof-mounted spoiler and an upright tailgate carrying the Tata logo and Sierra.ev lettering. The lower bumper has a heavy black section, a silver skid plate insert and a green EV registration plate. As expected, the overall design stays close to its ICE sibling.
The front action shot shows the EV moving through sand where the split lighting layout is clearly visible. The upper section carries a slim full-width LED DRL while the main headlamp units sit lower inside dark vertical housings. The closed-off front panel, central Tata badge, broad lower air intake and silver bumper inserts give the SUV a wide face. The bonnet has a flat and high-set shape, and the windscreen is steeply raked.

The side view reveals the boxy stance in greater detail. The Sierra EV gets flush door handles, thick black cladding around the squared wheel arches, a black lower door section, roof rails and dual-tone aero alloy wheels. The tall glasshouse, body-coloured C-pillar section and blacked-out rear quarter area are apparent links to the Sierra nameplate. The teaser also shows the SUV kicking up sand – pointing to Tata’s focus on the AWD capability in its pre-launch campaign.
The brief cabin glimpse shows a flat-bottom steering wheel and paddle shifters. A large centre touchscreen can also be seen and it looks similar to the 12.3-inch unit expected on the ICE Sierra. Tata is also expected to offer a digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, a frontal passenger side screen, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, powered tailgate, JBL audio, Dolby Atmos and Level 2 ADAS.

The top-end variants will get a dual-motor AWD setup as indicated by the QWD Dual Motor badge seen in the teaser. Battery options are expected to be related to the Harrier EV, which uses 65 kWh and 75 kWh packs. Range details have not been announced yet but the larger battery versions are expected to offer more than 500 km on a single charge.
DC fast charging, V2L and V2V functions could also be part of the package. The Sierra EV will become Tata’s seventh electric offering in India. It will sit above the Curvv EV and below the Harrier EV giving Tata a lifestyle-based midsize electric SUV with a retro name. Expected rivals are the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV.
