Here is a list of upcoming Toyota 7-seater cars that are expected to arrive in India within the next 2 years across different segments
Toyota is currently looking to bring in a host of new models to India across different segments and price brackets. Over the next couple of years, we can expect plenty of activity from the Japanese auto major as it seeks ways to expand its market share. Here we have brought you a rundown of the 5 possible upcoming launches:
1. 7-Seater Toyota Corolla:

The Japanese auto major is expected to introduce a seven-seat version of the global Corolla Cross. The SUV could be produced at Toyota’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Aurangabad and could arrive around 2028. Based on the TNGA-C architecture, the stretched version is expected to feature a wheelbase 150 mm longer than the standard model to accommodate a third seating row. Powertrain choices could include a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as well as a 2.0-litre strong hybrid system.
2. Next-Gen Toyota Fortuner:

Toyota is also working on the next-gen Fortuner which has already been caught testing on foreign soil. It will get a more aggressive exterior design, a heavily revised cabin and new features. It will utilise the same architecture as the latest Hilux and improvements to its off-road hardware are also a high possibility.
3. Toyota Innova HyCross Low-Spec:

Toyota will more likely discontinue the diesel-spec Innova Crysta in 2027 as stricter CAFE 3 regulations approach. The ladder frame MPV has relied exclusively on a diesel engine for several years and its exit will leave a gap in Toyota’s people-mover portfolio. To address this and capitalise on the increasing popularity of MPVs, the Japanese manufacturer could bring in a more affordable version of the Innova Hycross – internally known as the 840D to target commercial operators and fleet customers.
4. Toyota Midsize Electric MPV:

Another important project is Toyota’s version of Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming electric three-row MPV. Internally linked to the YMC programme (pictured above), the model will be based on the Heartect-e architecture that also underpins the e Vitara. The electric MPV is expected to rival the BYD eMAX 7 and Kia Carens Clavis EV. Two battery pack options are likely and driving range figures in excess of 500 km on a single charge could be targeted.
5. 7-Seater Toyota Hyryder:
If it comes to fruition, the three-row Hyryder will be slotted against the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar. It could borrow much of its design from the existing Hyryder while gaining a longer rear section and an additional seating row. Engine choices are expected to comprise the familiar 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol producing 103 hp and 137 Nm along with the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid setup developing 116 hp.
6. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado:

Toyota is also said to be considering the latest global Land Cruiser Prado for India. Built on Toyota’s TNGA-F ladder-frame platform, the new Prado shares its architecture with the Land Cruiser 300. Internationally, engine options include petrol and diesel powertrains coupled with advanced four-wheel-drive systems. If introduced in India, the SUV will arrive as a full import and occupy a position below the LC 300.
